چکیده

The operational amplifiers (OPAMP) are basic building blocks in implementing a variety of analog circuits such as amplifiers, filters, integrators, differentiators, summers, oscillators etc. OPAMPs work well for lowfrequency applications, such as audio and video systems. For higher frequencies, however, OPAMP designs become difficult due to their frequency limit. At those high frequencies, operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) are deemed to be promising to replace OPAMPS as the building blocks. This paper illustrates an application of OTA as an active low pass filter. The primary building block of an OTA is the current mirror. In this paper different current mirrors are used to design the LPF & the corresponding frequency and phase responses are comparatively studied. Also a comparative study of CMOS OTA & NMOS OTA is also illustrated in this paper. Finally, the applications of OTA based LPF are also studied. 

Design of Highly Linear Tunable CMOS OTA for Continuous-Time Filters

An analytical method based on the standard square-law metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) modeling for the design of highly linear, fully differential complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) is presented. The proposed circuit implementation combines a cross-coupled quad cell and a source-coupled differential pair, as well as the current mirror tec...

Active Filter Design Using OTA Realization

The OTA is an amplifier whose differential input voltage produces an output current. Thus, it is a voltage controlled current source. Operational transconductance amplifier is one of the most significant building-blocks in integrated continuous-time filters. We show that the operational transconductance amplifier (OTA), as the active element in basic building blocks. In this paper Low pass filt...

Two-Stage Feedforward Class-AB CMOS OTA for Low-Voltage Filtering Applications

A compact OTA suitable for low-voltage active-RC and MOSFET-C filters is presented. The input stage of the OTA utilises the NMOS pseudo-differential amplifier with PMOS active load. The output stage relies upon the dual-mode feed-forward class-AB technique (based on an inverter-type transconductor) with common-mode rejection capability that incurs no penalty on transconductance/bias-current eff...

Design of Gate-Driven Quasi Floating Bulk OTA-Based Gm–C Filter for PLL Applications

The advancement in the integrated circuit design has developed the demand for low voltage portable analog devices in the market. This demand has increased the requirement of the low-power RF transceiver. A low-power phase lock loop (PLL) is always desirable to fulfill the need for a low power RF transceiver. This paper deals with the designing of the low power transconductance- capacitance (Gm-...
